It was a cool night in the barrens; the brisk wind blew over Thorn Hill from the north, and the tree's leaves had the bright colors of orange, yellow and brown as autumn came to an end. Winter was coming.
Chieftain Ramzy sat alone in his tent, they had just come back from a small raid into Ashenvale and brought back furs to keep warm, lumber to build, and meet from the deer that still roam the forests. But the Kaldori druids watched ever closely as the orcs hunted.
An alarm went up as a horn was blown; bringing everyone who was back at camp out towards the fire to see who approached. Three riders on their armored worgs climbed the mountain side with the Kor'Kron banner blowing in the wind. Embre'ka, the oldest living rageskull was all that remained at camp with Ramzy stood watch as they dismounted, while Mar'rha quietly observed from a distance. Two of the orcs were ready for battle, axes in hand, fully geared in their plate armor; while the one in the middle less so. The three approached Ramzy as the Rageskull Chieftain planted his axe into the ground. "To what do I have the pleasure of hosting three of the Kor'Kron" he said unimpressed. The third and least armored orc extended his hands "Mok'ra Chieftain of the Rageskull. I am Barfang; one of the Warchief's negotiators. I am here on official horde business and would like to make you a proposition. "
Ramzy took a quick look around the camp to see that his orcs were ready to strike at a moment's notice but he did not give the signal; not yet anyways. "And what does the Warchief want with the Rageskull?" "As you know Chieftain; a rumours of a rebellion forming has reached the Warchief's ears; and should they be true then he will crush them with the full might of the horde. But you see, while many are loyal to his vision there are some clans that could pose a threat..." Barfang said as he studied the surroundings. "A clan like the Rageskull you mean." Ramzy said, demanding the negotiators attention.
"Yes like the Rageskull. Despite your attempts Ramzy your clan is a wild card that just can't be ignored. That is why we are here. The tales of clan are great and Warchief Hellscream wishes that you side with the horde" He paused for a moment "And what the Warchief wants, he gets. Let's face it Ramzy; as great and legendary these tales are, they are merely stories and no one clan can match up against the sheer might of the horde. So join us brother and together we can rule this world."
Barfang was confident that he had swaded the orc Chieftain. He even extended his hand to confirm the deal. Ramzy simply smiled back at the Kor'Kron Negotiator and shook his hand. But as the two exchanged the handshake Barfang noticed smoke rising from his gauntlet, he could feel his hand burning from the metal and released his grip. He looked at Ramzy who starred right back at him.
"You dare enter my camp and demand that I join the horde or be crushed underneath its might? We Rageskull's do not care for your politics. We will not join the horde. Now leave this place, tell Garrosh that the Rageskull decline his offer, and to not bother us again." Ramzy said.
Barfang was stunned, as he quickly drew his blade "Understand Ramzy; if you refuse this offer you will be branded an enemy of the horde, and your clan will cease to exist once we are done with you."
"We are no enemy of the horde Barfang...Unless Hellscream wills it. He is no Warchief of mine, and will never command the Rageskull while I still draw breath." Ramzy grabbed his axe and Embrea'ka readied herself for attack. Mar'rha smiled as they had no idea what was to come.
"Then I will kill you myself Chieftain Rageskull, and when your head is mounted on a pike your clan will fall into line." Barfang then swung his blade several times, but Ramzy dodged out of the way, before he parried the last swing with his own blade. The other two Kor'Kron charged towards Embre'ka but one of them was stopped in his tracks by an knife to the neck as Mar'rha appeared.
"Hellscream just couldn't leave us alone could he?" Ramzy said as he kicked Barfang in the chest. "We want no part of this war, but if he wants it; then we will be happy to give it to him." Ramzy swung his axe and shattered the weapon of Barfang, sundering it to the ground, as he marched. He then grabbed the orc by the throat and lifted him into the air. "I should kill you now..." Ramzy said as he looked over to see the two Kor'Kron soldiers dead with Embrea'ka and Mar'rha standing tall over their fallen victims. "But you need to give Garrosh this Message. Tell him that if Kor'Kron so much as show their face around here again then he wouldn't have to worry about what side we stand...because will be march into Orgrimmar and see to it that his reign as Warchief is ended."
Ramzy then dropped Barfang who crawled away, back to his mount. As he climbed onto the worg he yelled "Your clan is dead Rageskull!" As quickly has he came, the Kor'kron was gone.
Embre'ka and Mar'rha approached Ramzy with Embre'ka asking "Was that wise Chieftain?"
Ramzy looked back to the elder warrior "He threatened the good of the clan Embre'ka. I will not stand by and watch as these orcs I watch over are forced to march to a power hungry madman."
Ember'ka quietly nodded as Mar'rha listened to her father.
The wind blew in once again, the leaves rustling in the wind. The line in the sand at been drawn...
